Beauty on budget: affordable wax bars, greater Geneva

Many females who recently moved to Geneva will cringe at the prices of beauty salons in the city, and more specifically waxing...Unless you live hairy or had permanent hair removal, wax sessions will take their toll on your monthly budget. Here I indicate where you can go and get waxed on budget in neighboring France, and how much money it will save you.

A Geneva raised friend of mine recently came to me and said, superexcited: "I have got a great deal: I have a voucher to get waxed for 40 CHF per waxing area", and I am like "What ?" I get 3 wax areas for 30 EUR at regular price, what kind of deal is that !

The advantages of waxing salons in neighboring France: affordable price, flexibility, and more

Ok, we all know France offers services at lower price than Switzerland most of the time. The 2 wax and beauty salons I am going to reference here offer additional advantages that come on top of reduced price:
  • The price of getting waxed is twice as less as it in Geneva
  • These do not require an appointment
  • Men are accepted
  • There are 2 range of prices, for registered customers and occasional clients
You will probably argue that the quality of service is not as high as what you would get in Geneva, and I would probably agree. Services have a value, and both businesses have to make money. That said, I haven't tested wax bars services in Geneva - the price being psychologically unacceptable for me :-(

Body Minute and Citron vert, 2 chains of inexpensive wax bars located in Annemasse and Etrembieres

Body Minute and Citron are both inexpensive wax bar chains close to Geneva...yeah, what did you expect ? Below I will give a comparison, pros and cons of each beauty institute so you can make a sound decision on where to spend less money:

Which one will you choose to spend less on waxing ?

I guess it will depend on personal factors:
Be smart and make the most of that trip to France to grocery shop : Body Minute
Get there in public transportation : Citron Vert
Have a car ? Body Minute
Need flexibility on times ? Body Minute
Your man wants some ? Citron vert

You prefer the swiss style ? this article is not for you, sorry you read on that far.

What do I do ? Having been a client of Body Minute for years, I lean toward them as I also like to run other errands that require a car to save time: mail or collect international parcels at low cost in Annemasse post office, do some grocery shopping, buy delicious viennoiseries in a city center bakery.
Although I always carry a book, I would hate to be trapped in the waiting room waiting in line for my turn. On top of that, I have a car and organize to leave Geneva early on Sat mornings so that I avoid the afternoon heavy traffic: if you are the first customers you may be done as early as 10h30 and even if you shop after, you can be back to Geneva for 12pm, how cool is that ?
