You are new, fresh and young in Geneva ! After a hard day of work, how cool is heading to the pub for some drinks ? I know this may be a very anglo saxon habit, so I reveal to you here the 5 must-try pubs in Geneva !

The Mr Pickwick bar !

This pub is a reference for being a sports pub. Soccer, rugby and tennis games are broadcasted. it would be fair to say the population in this pub speaks English mainly. There is always a great party atmosphere there. The basement room has groups come for musical gigs, and every Monday, the Pickwick pub holds a general culture quiz.

Located closed to the international organizations area, the pub is often packed with anglo saxons, although it is also a real international pub, with people from all places gathered around a passion for sport. Book a table if you plan to come in large number. The bar has a siting area outside to accommodate smokers.

The Brasseurs

The Brasseurs is ideally located just opposite Geneva train station. The Brasseurs pub brews its own beers. You will also find beer based cocktails: beer-coconut, beer-banana, etc. The pub has a large sitting area including 2 outdoor settings.
The restaurant specializes in Flammenkueche (recipe from Alsace). You will need to like the rough atmosphere of this pub that seems to accommodate people from all walks of life.

Le Scandale

Always loaded with a population of all ages, the Scandal pub is very famous in Geneva. It features 2 floors, with a dining area and a pub. There is a large choice of cocktails labeled with exotic names, that come always nicely presented. The basement room is more quiet, with couches for the ones who prefer lounging that sitting. The restaurant part specializes in pizzas, big and affordable at the same time.

Au Coin Mousse

Located in the Grottes area, this a shelter for Anglosaxon population ;-). Small, cosy, this discreet pub would not be easy to find without the address. Small tables in rows on 2 floors, this is a nice place for a Friday night. Specialized in beers.

The Rooftop 42

In the heart of the city center, the Rooftop is more of a trendy pub. Its most famous feature is a rooftop terrace that overlooks the Leman lake rade. It has an air of afterwork kind of pub, where both men and women show up well groomed. The waiters seem to all have a trendy and cute look about them, each in their own way. Cocktails and amuse-gueule are served on demand. You may of course choose to sip your glass outside, while staring at the lake.
